Happy Birthday Mackenzie!

Sunday, August 16 was Mackenzie's 4th birthday! She has been counting down for months, asking everyday "How many days until I'm 4???" We decided not to have a big party this year, so on her birthday we celebrated with Jon's family. Next weekend we will celebrate with my family.
(Don't forget to pause the music before starting the videos!)
Getting ready to open presents!

Mackenzie is still very interested in dinosaurs. She had asked for a dinorsaur party all year, so that's what she got! She also got a few dinosaur toys, too!

She is also loving the show, "Yo Gabba Gabba". She loves the music and dancing, so at least it's a show that gets her involved instead of just sitting on the couch!

Whoo-hoo! A V-Motion console! Mackenzie loved Jon's Wii so much, and this is a kid's version of it!

Kristen and her boyfriend, Carl. Uncle Lee, Grandma Joyce, Aunt Lisa, Mackayla, Jared, and Jon (somehow I didn't get any pictures of Nanny and Papaw, but they were there too!)

Mackenzie's cake (she and Daddy picked out her cake!) So cute!

The 4 of us!
We were terrible parents--we put trick candles on her cake!

We have such a weird kid--this is the only bite of cake she ate!

After the party, the 4 of us went bowling and out for a birthday dinner.
Mackenzie LOVES bowling. The last time we went was when I was pregnant, so I just watched. Ever since Mackayla was born, Mackenzie has asked to go so that I could bowl with her. So we went for her birthday. We are also going to the aquarium since she hasn't been yet. (In September, after Aunt Beth's wedding!)

Mackenzie's birthday wouldn't be complete without a bowl of pasta! Since Johnny's closed, we found a great little Italian place in Marietta to replace it!
Ice Cream!
On the way home we made a quick stop at Kroger. Mackenzie asked me to take a picture of her and her friend. Whatever you want, kiddo, it's your birthday!

I am so proud of my little girl. Every day she seems to grow up and mature even more. She had such a great time celebrating with family, and is so excited to be 4 years old! Happy Birthday Baby!

Just hangin' around

Mackenzie constantly asks me to put Mackayla down next to her so they can lay in the floor and watch TV together. I am still amazed at how much Mackenzie loves her little sister.

Here they are, on a different day. Mackenzie grabbed my beach towel to use as a blanket. She wanted to hold Mackayla's hand, too!
I love how sweet my girls are!
Here's a video of Mackayla talking. Of course, as soon as I stopped recording, she talked non-stop! (Don't forget to stop the music at the bottom of the page first!)

A Playdate for Everyone

We finally got together again with some of our absolute favorite friends, David and Dawn. The last time we got to hang out was the week Mackayla was born, so we were very overdue! Mackenzie and Olivia wore themselves out at Monkey Joe's, and Dawn and I even got Jon, David, and Lindsey to play in the inflatables, too!

While Olivia and Mackenzie played in Olivia's room, Lindsey and the rest of the grown-ups played a great game of Uno Attack. And Mackayla, well, Mackayla did what she does best...

Back to School Jamboree

Last Saturday our friends Kisha and Denard had a Back to School Jamboree at their church. Dr. G and I went there to do a spinal screening.
I took Jon and the girls along with me, and Mackenzie loved seeing Kristen! They went up to the pulpit during the door prize drawings, and sang. It was Mackenzie's first time singing in front of an audience, and they did great! (And it was Kenzie's idea, too. She went up to the pastor and asked him for a microphone!)
There was lots of fun things to do: a moonbounce, games, and even a firetruck to explore!

Jon and Mackayla hanging out.
I can't believe Mackayla is growing up so fast!

Gymnastics Class!

Mackenzie has had 2 gymnastics classes so far, and absolutely loves it! The first week was sort of iffy; she was the only kid in her class. I know that could be good, but I wanted her to be able to interact with others kids her age. So I was relieved last week when another girl joined her class. She's only a couple of weeks younger than Mackenzie, and she has a baby sister one month younger than Mackayla!
Mackenzie has really gotten into gymnastics and tumbling, and is constantly showing off!

What was Mackayla doing during all of this?
Checking out the ceiling:)

Happy Birthday, Emma!

We celebrated Emma's 4th birthday last weekend with an awesome party at the gymnastics center. I had already planned to sign Mackenzie up for classes, so this was great exposure to see if she would like it. What do you think?
Crab-walking up the balance beam
Jumping!
Oops! Logjam at the foam pit!
Noah and Mackenzie on the obstacle course
Mackenzie's favorite part--swinging on the rope into the foam pit!
Singing "Happy Birthday" to Emma, with her cool Hannah Montana cake
I finally got Mackenzie to slow down long enough to smile for the camera
Thank you, Ms. Sara, for the yummy ring pop!

Fun times...

Just a few things we've been up to...
Mackayla and Mackenzie motivating me while I work out!
(Mackenzie perfecting her ab crunches!)
Eric, Michelle, and kids came to visit...and off to Chuck E. Cheese!!!
Mackenzie and Chris (Mackenize was winning...beginner's luck?!
The girls and I finally made it to the new play center at the mall. We like it much better than Arbor Place!
