We had our ultrasound today, and we're having another girl! This is very good news, because Mackenzie was NOT going to be happy with a brother. We were so excited to see our new little girl, and Kenzie had a blast pointing out all the body parts. On the way to the doctor, she asked if she could go pick out "purple pajamas" for the baby. We agreed that if the baby was a girl, we could get them. So after the ultrasound, off we went to Target where Mackenzie picked out the first outfit for her little sister! We are at 20.5 weeks now, and everything is going great. I've only gained 4 pounds, but I expect that will change quickly as the baby keeps growing. (I was very proud that with Mackenzie I gained 29 pounds, and lost all of it in 2 weeks!) The normal size of a 20 week gestation baby is 10.5 ounces and 6.6 cm long, and our nugget is weighing in at 14 ounces and 15.2cm long!
In other news, Mackenzie is potty-trained! She has done really well, with only a couple of accidents the first week, and NO ACCIDENTS since last Monday. My only dilemma--she has no butt, so her pants fall down and give her plumber's crack!!! She is very proud of herself, and loves all her new big-girl panties!
On New Year's Eve, Aunt Heather came over for a much needed night of fun. She and Jon played the Wii for a couple of hours, and Mackenzie decided to get in on the fun. Enjoy!

The whole family is so-o excited about the new baby girl! We can't wait to see her sweet face and to hold her close. We are looking forward to buying her clothes and her first baby doll, just as we did for Mackenzie and Kaitlyn.
We pray for a healthy pregnancy, an easy delivery and a healthy baby girl! I am praying to be able to be with you for the blessed event and to sing our newest granddaughter her first lullaby, just as I did for each of our five grandbabies who were born before.
We know you are so happy and excited that your family is to be blessed with another beautiful baby girl, we could hear it in your voice today. We can't wait to hear Mackenzie's version of the ultrasound, and all the body parts she saw!

Yeah! Girls Rock!
Congratulations! Now the fun begins with picking out a name. FYI - the second girl is harder to name than the first:)
(A special message for Mackenzie)
Dear Mackenzie,
We love you and we are so proud of you. We can't believe how fast you are growing up and how quickly the potty-training went! We couldn't help smiling when we read that your pants are falling down, especially since we had the same problem with your mommy. When her pants kept falling down, our solution was sewing a small strip of elastic into her waist band and that worked really well!
You are going to be a fantastic big sister and baby sister is going to love you so-o much! She will watch everything you do and she will want to be just like you!
You will have lots of fun helping Mommy and Daddy with the baby, and they will be so very grateful for your help! Your family has so many fun things going on and with the new baby to be born soon, you are truly blessed!
We Love You,
Papaw & Nana
Congratulations! Girls are awesome! May God bless the remainder of your pregnancy!
Love and Blessings,
