We celebrated Kenzie's 5th birthday at the Dallas Theater. We had the entire theater and party room to ourselves---it was the best party yet! Kenzie's name was on the marquee, which was so awesome!

Mackenzie is NOT a fan of cake, but she still wanted cake or cupcakes at her party. So she grudgingly sat still long enough for us to sing to her, but then she was off and running!

Last kids standing! Olivia, Kenzie, Kyle, and Katelyn stayed to watch The Little Mermaid on the big screen, and played on the stage afterwards.

Mackenzie's 5th Birthday!

Kenzie's birthday fell on a Monday this year. She was so excited to get to go to school and celebrate with her new friends. She was 4 years old for the first 6 days of school--the youngest kindergartener! At Allgood, they announce the birthdays during morning announcements, then the birthday kids come to front office to get a prize. After I dropped Kenzie off, I waited in the front office with Mackayla to surprise her. And she WAS surprised! She went into the office and was seranaded by the wonderful office ladies, and she got her prize. Also, her awesome teacher had a crown and tutu for her to wear, to be the birthday princess for the day. What a super cool birthday!!!!

FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kenzie did so well! Jon, Mackayla, and I walked her into her classroom. The only thing Kenzie wasn't happy about was having to be away from Mackayla. I have to admit, Jon got teary-eyed. He also teared up at registration in April. :-) I was okay for the first couple of days, and then it hit me one day after I dropped her off, and I lost it as I drove away!

Someone is REALLY interested in what's in the backpack!

Kenzie doing her morning work! She was one of the first kids there (I know, surprising, with me as her mom!), so she had the room pretty much to herself that first day.

July 2010

Kenzie attended her first VBS--it was a great introduction to a school setting, and Kenzie's lifelong friend Emma was there too!

Fourth of July! We went to Charlotte to celebrate with Jon's family. While we were there, Mackenzie made a new friend. Nick and Kenzie were pretty close in age, and were great friends instantly!
