Portaits, Christmas 2009

Of course, Portrait Innovations took our pictures, again. We had a few of the girls made in the dresses they wore to Aunt Beth & Uncle AJ's wedding. Enjoy!

6 months and counting

It is so unbelievable to me that my baby is already 6 months old. The time is flying by so fast, I can't keep up. I've heard it said that you always remember the firsts, but nobody thinks to try to remember the lasts. The last time Mackayla slept in her cradle in our room passed without me knowing it; the last time we could put her in her bouncer seat and not worry that she would try to pull herself out it passed. Thankfully there's not that many "lasts" yet. I am keeping it in mind with Mackenzie--sometimes she still wants to sleep in our bed, or wants me to sing one more song before I tuck her in at night. I am remembering that one day it will be the last time, and savoring every bit of motherhood that I can.
Well, after that bit of nostalgia, here is Mackayla's 6 month update!
Mackayla, at 6 months you are:
  • Rolling everywhere, all the time!
  • Trying to crawl
  • You haven't been able to sit unsupported yet, but that doens't stop you from getting what you want--you are constantly reaching and getting Mackenzie's toys, hair, glasses, anything you can get your sticky fingers on!
  • Loving to eat anything that isn't green!
  • Still sleeping 10-12 hours at night, in your own room, in your crib
  • Gibbering non-stop, I swear you said "Hi" to the DISH service-man the other day (Mackenzie starting talking at 6 months too)
  • Giggling like crazy when Mackenzie blows raspberries on your tummy
  • Enjoying your baths, still splashing like crazy. I usually get soaked during your baths.
  • Loving going out, whether it's to gymnastics, shopping, dinner, mom or dad's work, or to your grandparents house--you are always a happy baby.
  • Getting ready for your 1st Christmas--it's going to be great!

Jon's 28th birthday :-)

November 27th was Jon's 28th birthday. My dad, Jon's parents, Aunt Lisa & Uncle Lee, Kristen, Carl, Grandma Joyce, Jon, and the girls & I celebrated at Kobe Steaks. Here is Mackenzie doing her happy dance. She had enjoyed the dinner prep, eaten as little as she could get by with, and was excited that the cake was on its way out. She and I had gone cake shopping, and she helped pick out Jon's cake--Transformers was the final decision. As usual, I got everything done at the last minute, and we picked up the candles on the way to the restaurant. Mackenzie has known our ages for the past 2 years, and had been counting down the days to Jon's 28th birthday for weeks. How then, did she allow her rushed Mama to purchase candles that said "27"????? The sad part is, Jon is only a month and a day older than me, so I really had no excuse to mess that up! Oh, well, at least I'm keeping him young, not making him older!
Jon's face is priceless after Mackenzie, for the second time this year, has blown out someone else's birthday candles. Geez, this kid's mom really needs to have a talk with her!
My 28-year-old husband's Transformer's cake. He really is young at heart!
27, for the second time ;-)
Mackayla slept through most of the dinner. At least she was dressed appropriately--her shirt said, " My dad is purr-fect"!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a great Thanksgiving again this year--lunch with the extended Cronon family, and dinner with my parents. I didn't get a lot of pictures, but here are a few cute ones.
Mackenzie and one of her favorite aunts, Aunt Lisa, spent some quality time throwing leaves on each other:-)
Afterward, they tried to clean up the mess they made, and put the leaves back where Steve & Yvette had them!

More Random Fun...

Our well-adjusted baby girl :-)
Mackayla has turned into a real roller girl. She rolls and flips all over the living room, under the trampoline, and back again. On this particular day she was trying to get into Mackenzie's conglomerate of toys. Can you see how proud she is of herself?! Here is Mackenzie at her latest gymnastics class. Of course, the only picture I was able to get has her fanny towards us. She's the pig-tailed cutie in the pink & black leotard. She is still loving her class, and making great friends.
And this is what Mackayla does during most classes. Rolls. All. Over. The. Place. See the pretty green "My 1st Christmas" blanket? It does absolutely nothing for her. :-)

More rolling. What is it with the trampoline?!
