Jon's 28th birthday :-)

November 27th was Jon's 28th birthday. My dad, Jon's parents, Aunt Lisa & Uncle Lee, Kristen, Carl, Grandma Joyce, Jon, and the girls & I celebrated at Kobe Steaks. Here is Mackenzie doing her happy dance. She had enjoyed the dinner prep, eaten as little as she could get by with, and was excited that the cake was on its way out. She and I had gone cake shopping, and she helped pick out Jon's cake--Transformers was the final decision. As usual, I got everything done at the last minute, and we picked up the candles on the way to the restaurant. Mackenzie has known our ages for the past 2 years, and had been counting down the days to Jon's 28th birthday for weeks. How then, did she allow her rushed Mama to purchase candles that said "27"????? The sad part is, Jon is only a month and a day older than me, so I really had no excuse to mess that up! Oh, well, at least I'm keeping him young, not making him older!
Jon's face is priceless after Mackenzie, for the second time this year, has blown out someone else's birthday candles. Geez, this kid's mom really needs to have a talk with her!
My 28-year-old husband's Transformer's cake. He really is young at heart!
27, for the second time ;-)
Mackayla slept through most of the dinner. At least she was dressed appropriately--her shirt said, " My dad is purr-fect"!

Happy 28th Birthday, Jon!

So glad you had a great birthday party/dinner celebration, even though your number '27' candles had to be relit ... hilarious! But, seriously, you are a very lucky young man. Our advice; continue to enjoy and protect your many blessings from God. The joy, happiness and love you share with your beautiful wife, Ashley, are major blessings. As is your spunky, beautiful and intelligient four/going on twenty-four/year-old daughter, Mackenzie. Last and also least, yet a huge blessing in your life, Mackayla; your beautiful, healthy, happy and always smiling seven-month-old daughter! ~ Also, in today's recession torn world, you are blessed to have a job that you enjoy and to own a beautiful home to share with your family. While many, both young and old, are addicts, have no jobs, no homes, no family and sadly, no hope. You and Ashley can be proud that your christian beliefs have kept you from making bad choices, like those which have ruined the lives of many. Also, faith helps you to be much better parents than you would have been without God in your lives. ~ We are proud of the accomplishments the two of you have made in your young lives and we pray that life will continue to be better. May God continue to watch over and bless your family.
Lots of Love,
Steve & Phyllis
